Golf Club Board

The Wanganui Golf Club Board is responsible for the governance and management of the club and it's assets on behalf of it's members. It has particular responsibility for all financial matters, business managemnet, annual and long term strategic policy and planning and the supervision of all staff, committees and members.

Board Composition

The Wanganui Golf Club Board consisits of:
President
Men's Captain or nominated club member elected by male golf committee members
Women's Captain or nominated club member elected by female golf committee members
Two Board members elected at the AGM
Two members selected by selection committee.

Golf Committee

The Golf committee is responsible to set annual programme and control all tournament and competitions in accordance with club rules. In addition they are responsible for:

• All club competitions as per annual programme
• All club tournaments as per annual programme
• Obtaining sponsorship for club tournaments
• Set conditions of competitions
• Setting tees for club competitions in conjuction with greens superintendent
• Promotion of membership
• Approval of all new membership nominations
• Approval of all changes of membership category
• Approval of all membership resignations
• Welcome new members
• Set membership categories for the next season

• Four men elected at the AGM
• Two Women elected at the AGM
• Social co-ordinator
• Weekday's member's representative
• 9 Hole Captain
• Junior Golf Convener

The match committee is a sub-committee of the golf committee.

Responsibilities of the match committee are:

• To set local rules
• Handing all handicap complaints
